Anti-Termite Treatment and Inspection in Sri Lanka

Also known as ‘white-ants’, termites are soft-bodied insects with a body length of 4-11mm. These tiny insects have a foraging behavior that constantly drives them in search of food. They can gain access to properties and furniture through gaps as tiny as the width of a business card, making termite control in Sri Lanka a necessary consideration for property owners.

The tropical and high humidity environment we reside in provides a conducive setting for termites to thrive, necessitating reliable anti-termite treatment.

Before addressing any termite infestations, it's crucial to carry out a thorough inspection of your premises which will reveal the species of termites present. Upon a full assessment, a tailored recommendation will be provided, encompassing various termite treatment options suited to the intensity of the infestation. We specialize in effective termite treatment in Sri Lanka, ensuring to eradicate active termites found. If there's no evidence of an infestation, our proactive termite control measures will be implemented to prevent future occurrences.

Should you also face challenges with ants, our ant exterminator services near you are designed to tackle the problem swiftly and professionally.

As the name denotes, XTERM termite baiting works by luring the termite workers to feed on the bait. Termite workers are one of the main castes within the termite colony and their main task is to gather food for the sustenance of other termites. By targeting worker termites through baiting, we can effectively reach the other termites. These termites will then share it with others in the colony. This allows the bait to reach even the Queen and the King. In other words, Xterm™ targets the heart of the colony. Thereafter, an active ingredient (slow acting toxicants) in the bait halts the termites’ moulting process – the process which enables them to grow, thereby, effectively eradicating the entire colony.

Due to their natural foraging behaviour, termite workers will then feed on the bait and share it with other termites in the colony. An active ingredient in the termite bait affects termites by stopping the moulting process they need to grow. As the worker termites die off, the colony declines to the point it can no longer sustain itself, ultimately leading to its elimination.

Advantages of using Xterm Termite Baiting

Baiting is different from more conventional treatment methods, as they do not require drilling and pumping of huge quantities of toxic chemicals to the soil. These methods carry some associated side effects; including, disturbances and damage to the floor and property.

In contrast, baiting is an eco-friendly treatment method, which involves using a small amount of pest-specific chemical and is done in a non-disruptive and minimal hazard manner.

Xterm™ offers a professional looking and cleaner, non-messy formulation that is easy to install service and monitor.

A liquid chemical is applied around the boundary of the property by injecting termiticide into the soil to form a barrier between the soil and the physical structure. This application of the termiticide can be done both before and after construction and is applied under a concrete floor or around the foundations.

Once applied, worker termites that dig through the soil in search of food come in contact with the chemical, through ingestion as well as through its adherence to their bodies. The exposed termites then spread the slow acting ingredient to other termites, ultimately resulting in the annihilation of the colony populations.

Termites are small, social insects primarily known for their wood-eating habits. They thrive in diverse habitats, from forests to urban areas, often forming large colonies. Termites play a crucial role in decomposing organic matter in their natural environment. However, in urban settings, they are notorious for causing significant structural damage to buildings and wooden structures. Effective termite control is essential in property management to prevent costly repairs and maintain structural integrity. Regular inspections and timely interventions can mitigate the risks posed by these often-unseen pests, safeguarding properties against potential termite infestations.

The threat posed by termites

Termites, often unnoticed until significant damage has occurred, can cause extensive harm to wooden structures, furniture, and even non-wood materials like plaster and metal siding. They compromise the structural integrity of buildings, leading to costly repairs and even complete rebuilds. Early detection and control are crucial because termites can rapidly cause damage, often hidden behind walls or in foundations. Regular inspections and proactive control measures are essential to prevent infestations and protect properties from termite damage's severe and costly consequences.

Termite control solutions

We offer comprehensive termite control services tailored to various property development and maintenance stages. We provide soil treatment solutions for pre-construction to prevent termite infestations from the ground up.

In post-construction scenarios, we focus on eliminating existing colonies and safeguarding structures against future invasions. Our preventive measures include regular inspections and the use of advanced bait systems and repellents, ensuring long-term protection for your property. These diverse strategies are designed to meet the unique needs of each property, ensuring effective and lasting termite control.

Sustainable termite treatment methods

Our advanced termite treatment methods include soil treatment and baiting systems. Soil treatment involves applying termiticides to the soil around and under a building, creating a protective barrier against termites. On the other hand, baiting systems use bait stations strategically placed around the property to attract and eliminate termites.

These methods are highly effective in controlling termite populations and preventing future infestations. Safety is paramount in our approach, and we ensure that all treatments are environmentally friendly and pose minimal risk to humans and pets.
