Flies, scientifically known as Diptera, have a light, short and streamlined body structure, typically formed to move in the air. They have short antennae and large compound eyes that are very noticeable. They have no teeth or any other organ that allows them to eat solid food.
Flies develop mostly in garbage, compost piles or other animal materials. Certain types such as fruit flies or drain flies can also breed inside houses. They feed mostly on liquid food. Flies also defecate on food during feeding and this could lead to severe health risks through the spread of disease organisms.
