They breed in water and after a complete metamorphosis reach adulthood, at which time, they become a nuisance and a vector. Sri Lanka itself has been plagued by Mosquito afflicted diseases severely over different time durations over the past few years. In some cases, they have turned out to be quite fatal taking away the lives of plenty.
